God created man.
Everyone has fallen into sin. Everyone is God's creation. Not everyone is God's
Son. Just because Jesus was born on earth to die on the cross for all people He
is still the Son of God.
'Jesus answered
and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be
born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and
be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 'John
3:3-5
'But as many as
received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name: 'John 1:12
Jesus, even if
born in a barn, cannot benefit us
unless He is born into our hearts. We can be religious and do many things for
God but being born again on earth does not help us if we do not accept Jesus as
the one who did what He did for us on the cross. This is what Jesus said to a
law teacher named Nicodemus who admired Him.
We can celebrate
Christmas in a variety of religious ceremonies, but we can only truly appreciate
Jesus from our heart. If Jesus does not dwell in our hearts, we have missed the
purpose of His coming to earth and being born of the Virgin Mary.
'She will give
birth to a son, and you will call his name Jesus, for he will save his people
from their sins.' ”Matthew 1:21
Jesus' birth on
earth as a pauper was just to signify that he was born among the people. If he
was not born among the people, they could not be saved by hearing the message
of the good news.
'And he said unto
them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He
that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall
be damned. 'Mark 16:15-16
Not only because
we are religious mean we are automatically saved; it is only by accepting Jesus
as Savior and Lord that saves us from sin.
'For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish,but have everlasting life.'John 3:16
People are
accepting and being saved by Jesus every day and every minute. But we are
deceived if we think we are saved just because of Jesus’ birth on earth. Jesus
must be born into our hearts.
We need to trust
the gospel in order for the birth of Jesus to benefit us. The good news of
God's saving power is the good news that Jesus died for our sins.
'For I am not
ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to
everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 'Romans 1:16
